Interested in reading, music, and writing.... I have written a few short stories, completed one called The Lord of Roseotter, also written some poetry. I focus mostly on medievil books, my stories reflect the works of authors who write in that catagorie.... Brain Jaques and Gene Wolfe are my favoite authors. I have started on a science-fiction type short story based on 2112 by Rush. Always looking for new ideas

Given the same State of Integrity

Once Great
hilary bayliss

Open up the door of Time
Look upon those elder worlds
Hear the music of their orbits
Try to understand what was once great
This long doomed race was once great

Build it up
They break it down
Turn the page in books of lies
Fiery speech of mass deception
We forget what was once great

Try to understand what was once great
This long doomed race was once great
Lives thrown in total confusion
Trying to be what they're not

Help us break this blind ambition
Expose the world to the light
Rewrite the books with voices of the past
Lift your head and sing with the orbits
Let it be known what may be great again

Try to understand what was once great
This long doomed race was once great
Lives thrown in total confusion
Trying to be what they're not

Hey, girl What are you doing these days? What is happening with your writing?

do you want to try to write for the scifi anthology I want to put together for an ebook to sell? I will be a tough editor/critique if you do. Are you up for it? will your parents agree?

Check out Publisher's Database. The idea there is to get other writers, poets included, to critique your work and help you get it polished for publication. You probably won't be allowed anything you do not have clear copyright to, so nothing in the Star Trek Unverse without checking on that, and you will have to tell them that you are young and new or their criticism could be more sever e than you want until you build up your confidence as a writer. Many of the writers there are published and voluntarily critique stuff so that other will critique their items in return. Nothing posted there is for public view, so you do not sacrifice your right to original posting and copyright, matters that will count when submit for publication. hey, you want to paste this advice in the forum? I'll do it later, if you do not do it first.

We can also start a private group for critiques here, too. I'll start one just in case anyone wants to be involved that way. I think I'll do that in Trekspace, too, while I'm at it.

Interesting poem. Yours?

When you make a group, look beneath the Features items on the right and find the Privacy items (I copied it here):
Privacy
Choose who can join this group. Privacy can't be changed after the group is created.
* Anyone
* Only Invited People (I say, choose this.)

* Members can invite other people to join. (I say, deselect this)
* Allow people to request an invitation (I say, choose this)

Messages
* Allow members to send messages to the entire group (sure. That's what makes groups so convenient! but it's up to you)

Mark the Privacy choices: Only invited people.

Since you want to control who sees this and for your sake as a minor, I recommend that you mark the choices like I say above in the parentheses.

Once you make the group private, you cannot make it public later. I know private networks cannot be changed to public, but I am not sure about groups.

Anyway, you can always cut and paste items to another page/blog/forum or message stuff to another group or email it to yourself. You can save as the page to your home computer (I guess you would get it al) and you can copy and paste it to a Word or Notepad file on your computer. So if you decide to change the group setting, just transfer your stuff to another group to make the change--if you have to.

Do you want to also make a private group of your own for works that you are not ready to display?

Welcome, oh chameleon friend. Or are you just a shape-shifter?

Are any of your friends joining us? Will you be group-writing?

This is all for fun and games. However, we do have the potential of developing works here that might be publishable. So I will play the heavy now and then with cautions (I am neurotic that way) that you can consider. Take it for what it is. Not an admonition, just a recognition of potential and an exploration of how best to proceed. I am not an authority on the subject of publishing or copyrights. But you can always go look up stuff and decide what is best for you.

For the sake of your parents and your age, I will send you the link to the private group after we get a couple more members, especially same-sex type. Sad, but I do think it is necessary for your own safety and your parents' peace of mind. Meanwhile, start a forum here with your ideas. My advice is to you is to decide if any work is to be up for sale later. Say so in the posting and add a copyright blurb. That way it will be protected.

Once you get a story developed and wish to pull it into for your copyrighted set, say so. Placing such items in a private group environment might help protect your rights. I think I will start a forum about this. Want to monitor it and write for it? I do not really have the time, but I see the need. Can you locate a partner and the two of you oversee it?

Or just do your thing. Most of all, Have Fun!
